2007 Volvo S80

Volvo fans rejoice…the new Volvo S80 sedan is on the horizon. I was a big fan of Volvo before they were purchased by Ford. I think overall they are still solid cars, but with so many other choices out there (Saab, Infiniti, Audi) Volvo could continue losing ground.

“Volvo is testing prototypes of the next-generation S80 sedan. Ford Motor Co.’s Swedish subsidiary expects to begin production of the redesigned four-door in mid-2006, with the U.S. version reaching dealers sometime in the fall as a 2007 model.”

Volvo’s XC70 AWD wagon was something of a pioneer in North America as one of the early “crossover” vehicles that attempted to bridge the gap between traditional station wagons and sport utility vehicles.
